today...

Today I find myself reminiscing about my grandmother. She has lived for 92 years. Think about that for a minute. What all has she experienced in 92 years? Think of all the history that she has witnessed. She is an amazing woman who is in her last few days on Earth. I pray that God has mercy and takes her sooner rather than later. I don't want her to suffer any longer. Two strokes have taken her away from us in the last week. I spent the weekend at her bedside. I thank God everyday that I went to see her this past Wednesday. She was actually alert for the most part and we said goodbye to each other. I will always miss her, but have her memory to strengthen me in the years to come. And, by the way, she has the softest skin I have ever felt. The best Maple and Brown Sugar oatmeal. The coolest ice cube trays and refrigerator. Amazing what stands out in your mind about loved ones. Not what you think.

Anyway, I am planning to take part in Ali Edwards' December Daily minibook project. I'm going to gather all Christmas scrapbook supplies tonight and order a couple of things tomorrow from Etsy for the minibook and for Christmas. I found the coolest tags and address labels. Check out www.hootiecoo.com - very cool products. I will also be going to an arts & crafts show next Thursday and hopefully take care of those little extra gifts for this year. You know, teachers, dog groomer, hair stylist, classroom helpers, etc...

Also, I have plans to start being very strict with clearing out "stuff" in our home. You know, just to live more simply. I'll try to keep up with my progress on the blog. Wish me luck.
