Great weekend!

I have had the best Valentine's Day weekend that I can remember. I got to spend it with the people I love and had some great experiences. Valentine's Day the movie was slow to start then got better towards the ending. The dinner before the movie was fabulous!! The food was great and the company was even better. I love just talking to him about the everyday things and reflecting back on our short time together! We appreciate what we have and that is refreshing. And let's go ahead and talk about the races - finally NASCAR is back!! woohoo!! The duels on Thursday were awesome!! How about those close finishes? That's what I'm talking about. Then the Nationwide Series on Saturday was amazing - helped that Stewart won!! The competition was exciting. Daytona 500 - well, that's another story - could have been more exciting, especially since it took so long finishing. The last 2 laps were the best out of all of them. So happy for Jamie McMurray!! Love to see all of the emotions, that's when you know how much it means to them. Maybe Stewart will have a better weekend this next time!! Hoping anyway!! So, life is good right now and I am extremely happy, busy, but happy! What more could a girl ask for!?!

home at last

Well, I finally made it home yesterday to spend some time doing the things that needed to be completed.

• clothes folded and hung up - check
• supper cooked - check
• kitchen cleaned - check
• papers graded - check
• watch American Idol - check
• vacuum - check
• sweep - check
• good night sleep - check, check, and check

Thank goodness for a good night's sleep!!! I slept so hard that my left eye was swollen this morning when I got up. Beautiful, I know, you don't have to tell me!! Please stop!! Anyway, the supper was completely yummo!! Leftovers will be consumed tonight. Headed to Wal-Mart, CVS, and Winn-Dixie this afternoon to rack up on some more good buys. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. I have Gidget (my salt/pepper mini schnauzer) for the weekend. So good to have her back with her mama and Gus loves it too. However, he doesn't like how she feels that she has to set him back in his place. That takes just a little time. Wow!! So, tonight I am looking forward to chillin with my two little people and the two furbabies. Cleaning house will have to wait. I was reading the new Country Living yesterday and seeing the Spring pics. just makes me want to go pick wildflowers and put them all over the house and bring out the Spring plates, etc... maybe I will pick up some pretty flowers at Winn-Dixie this afternoon just to brighten things up a little. The weather has been icky today - so dreary, wet & cold. But, good snuggling weather. Peace out!!

coupon ecstasy!!

Wow!! yesterday was a great day with coupons!! I saved over $23.00 at Wal-Mart. I scored a Monopoly card game and a Pictureka card game for about $2.00 total. Good for Valentine's goodies for the kids. Total score!! Then at CVS I was able to hit the coupon center for the first time. Ours did not have one previously. I scored two more coupons and were able to use them yesterday. I received about $14.00 in ECBs which I will use today to score another $10.00 in ECBs and hit the coupon center again. I purchased a reusable bag and tag which will get me $1.00 ECB after every 4th visit. Got some Dove bodywash for free!! Yes, free!! Just love it! Got home too late to cook so that is on the agenda for this afternoon. Looking forward to staying at the house for a while this afternoon. Hasn't happened here lately! what is sleep?

Sleep has been an elusive creature for me the last week or so. Just haven't been able to rest much. I don't know exactly what the problem is. I've taken Ambien for about 3 years now due to severe insomnia and I wanted to try and wean myself off of it. So, I slept good for a couple of nights, but last night I didn't. I think I just have too much on my brain!! Really, none of us have too much on our mind do we? It may be that I am trying to get reorganized and doing the coupon thing again. I have cleaned out my coupon binder and am restocking since it is the first of the month and www.coupons.com has some good coupons now. I have my list prepared and am ready to do some shopping as soon as I leave work.

Supper tonight - meatloaf - recipe from www.kraftfoods.com that uses barbecue sauce and chicken stove top stuffing - yummmmmo!! very flavorful and moist - mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and fried green tomatoes!! menu was requested by my favorite bf!!! hope he enjoys it tonight.

Cleaning - I will also be cleaning the house tonight while I prepare that great supper!! Gus so needs a bath, but doesn't look like it will happen tonight! oh well!

Well, onward to get things accomplished so maybe my head will quit running marathons at night while I am trying to go to sleep! wish me luck!!!!!!

Back in the Swing

hello, hello, hello!!!! I am attempting to get back in the swing of things. You know - blogging, couponing, family time, boyfriend time, and just being happy. I printed out several coupons today and am compiling my grocery list accordingly. I just enjoy that process. Makes me feel like I am contributing more than food to my family. I am saving money so we can enjoy other things in life and getting ahead. Moe goes back to the orthodontist today. Hoping to find out how much longer she has to wear braces. Praying that they are off by summer time. She will be ecstatic!!! Many years and one pretty tough surgery later baby girl is looking more like a little lady. OMG!!!! Anyway, what else... little league baseball is about to start!! My boy's last year:( We'll have to make it a good one!!:)

Have been looking at houses and am totally confused on what I need to do! Should I stay where I am or move on. Decisions, decisions!!! Hopefully I'll get some good advice and God will show me the way.

Gus is in bad need of a grooming and a bath. He may get the bath tomorrow if all goes according to plan.

Looking forward to doing some flea marketing in the near future. I don't have to buy anything, I just love the shopping and inspiration!!

Little Mo

My baby girl will be having some surgery on Thursday. She will have her jaw broken and moved forward to correct her overbite. I thought it was going to be outpatient surgery, however when the Dr.'s office sent her preadmission papers and after care procedures, they stated that she would be staying overnight. That adds a little more stress to the situation. Hospitals just drain every ounce of energy out of me. I'm kind of glad due to the procedure, but I still don't look forward to it. I pray that everything goes o.k. and that the results will please her. She's looking forward to the change - just not the surgery. Understandable. Maybe she will be o.k. before Christmas gets here.

The weather here stunk this past weekend! Raining and cold and foggy - blah! Doesn't help when you have a migraine headache and ear ache all at the same time. Still, a good weekend. I have reentered the 21st century as of Saturday!! I have satellite t.v. after being without for 2 months. Woohoo!!!! Anyone love those cheesy Christmas movies? You know, the ones that LMN and ABC Family shows every year. I watched Christmas in Handcuffs yesterday. So, cornball, but I still watch every year. Oh, also watched Lord of the Rings for the 1st time last night with my SO. I never thought I would like those movies, but I really enjoyed it. Got to bed late because of it, but I couldn't stop halfway through.

Will finish up Christmas shopping this afternoon, run some errands, and chill out at the house tonight. Morgan has preop tomorrow afternoon, surgeon consultation on Wednesday, and surgery on Thursday. Busy week!!

onward!

Well, life has started to get a little normal once again!! I want to thank all of my wonderful friends for helping me paint and to move. My brother is the very best - thanx dude!!!!! My cottage is the best ever. Try going from a house approximately 5000-6000 square feet to one that is barely 1000 square feet!?! It's the best thing I have ever done. You get a better sense of what is important and necessary and forget all of the "things" about life. I can have it spotless in an hour instead of 2 days which leaves more time for the people I love. And the things I love to do.

Gus and I are taking walks around the new neighborhood and he is loving it. He knows what the harness and leash means when I grab them. He gets sooooo excited!

Yes, he is trying to help me drive in this pic. He has gotten so spoiled since I moved. The kids are with their dad every other week and Gus gets a lot of special attention when it is just he and I. He'll get a new haircut on Tuesday for Christmas - he's a fluffball right now!! Ha! So cute

The kids and I visited Stone Mtn. in Georgia Thanksgiving weekend with my mom. They had a great time as did I. Good quality time for the fam. Pics are at the top - can't get them in the right spot, uggghhh! Anyway, in other news Morgan will be having jaw surgery next week to fix an overbite. It will require an overnight stay in the hospital and having her mouth wired shut for a week. Merry Christmas, right? It really is. I am thankful for what I have and who all I have in my life right now. When life gets hard you really find out who your friends are, whether related or not. Learning alot about patience now too. I am not a patient person and God is really trying to give me a lesson in sitting back and enjoying life. I have to quit trying to control everything in it. And I am enjoying my ride. There is a movie that I'm sure you have seen or heard of, "Under the Tuscan Sun" - love it - anyway, the crazy lady in the village talks about ladybugs and the fact that while she was in a field hunting them she couldn't find any. She went to sleep and when she awoke ladybugs were all over her. Moral - sit back and the ladybugs will find you!! And you can insert any of life events for the ladybugs to symbolize. I keep telling myself "ladybugs, ladybugs, ladybugs" over and over when my patience is being tried. And it has worked in all areas of my life, one in particular!! Ok I got long winded, but it has been a while.
